On December 24, the inauguration ceremony for the Beijing Shurui Surgical Robotics Innovation Demonstration Center and the signing ceremony between Peking University Shougang Hospital and a robotics leasing company were held.
Attendees included Shu Bilei, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal Government; Ma Bin, Deputy District Mayor of Shijingshan District; Zhao Tianyang, Deputy General Manager of Shougang Group; representatives from relevant municipal departments including the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Municipal Health Commission, Municipal Medical Products Administration, Municipal Hospital Management Center, Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and Municipal Development and Reform Commission; leaders from the District Medical Insurance Bureau and District Health Commission; the head of Beijing Robotics Financial Leasing Co., Ltd.; the founder of Beijing Surgerii Robotics Co., Ltd; the head of Shouyi Medical; as well as other relevant department leaders and experts.
The establishment of the Beijing Shurui Surgical Robotics Innovation Demonstration Center at Peking University Shougang Hospital and the introduction of the Shurui Single-Port Surgical robot (Shurui Robot) leasing project represent a concrete practice in response to the initiative promoting the application and demonstration of high-end medical equipment. This initiative aims to lower the financial threshold for hospitals through an innovative leasing model, accelerate the clinical application of cutting-edge surgical robot technology, and enable advanced technology to better serve diagnostic and treatment needs.
In his speech, Li Xiaofeng, Director of the Science and Education Division of the Municipal Hospital Management Center, stated that this signing is a "landmark achievement" closely integrating policy innovation with hospital practice. The leasing pathway for surgical robots has transitioned from a blueprint into reality. The core value of the leasing model lies in "relieving the burden" and "providing support" for hospitals, lowering the entry threshold, allowing hospitals to rapidly apply cutting-edge technology, and benefiting patients. It also serves as a catalyst for integrating industry, academia, research, and medical practice, creating a multi-win ecosystem where "hospitals develop, patients benefit, the industry advances, and technology iterates". He expressed hope that Shougang Hospital would effectively manage and utilize this advanced equipment, making it a powerful tool to elevate its surgical capabilities. He looked forward to using this as a new starting point to collectively advance the city's medical standards to a new level.
Jiang Molin, President of Shouyi Medical, and Xu Kai, Founder of Beijing Surgerii Robotics Co., Ltd., jointly unveiled the plaque for the Beijing Shurui Surgical Robotics Innovation Demonstration Center. Gao Zhan, General Manager of Beijing Robotics Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., signed the leasing agreement for the Shurui Single-Port Thoracoabdominal Endoscopic Surgical Robot with Jiang Molin.
During the academic sharing session, Professor Sun Dawei from Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Professor Leng Jianjun from Peking University Shougang Hospital delivered in-depth presentations on the application of surgical robot with snake-like instruments in gynecology and hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, respectively. Through clinical cases and practical experiences, they demonstrated the precise, minimally invasive, safe, and efficient technical advantages of the Shurui robot, providing attendees with a more intuitive understanding of the clinical value of innovative medical devices. At the conclusion of the event, Jiang Molin expressed strong confidence in the collaboration and hoped to integrate diverse expertise to jointly promote the widespread application of surgical robotics technology in China's healthcare sector.
This event represents an innovative exploration in cultivating an industrial ecosystem and promoting the integrated development of industry, academia, research, and medical practice, as well as a pragmatic step towards implementing the Healthy China strategy. With the deployment of the Shurui robot, Peking University Shougang Hospital is poised to achieve new breakthroughs in minimally invasive surgery, offering patients more precise and safer medical services, while setting an exemplary model for innovative medical device applications and coordinated industrial development.
It is understood that Beijing Robotics Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. is a leasing platform established by Shougang Group in the robotics sector. In line with the implementation of the Beijing Robotics Industry Innovation and Development Action Plan (2023-2025), aimed at accelerating the innovation capacity and application breadth of the city's robotics industry, further optimizing the industrial ecosystem, strengthening market entities, and contributing Shougang's strength to building a global robotics industry hub, the platform was founded to bridge the last mile between robotics companies and users, create replicable and scalable application scenarios, and promote the high-quality development of Beijing's robotics industry.
