SHURUI® Single-Port Surgical Robot Achieves CE Mark: A Global Milestone for Chinese MedTech

 

We are proud to announce that the SHURUI® Single-Port Surgical Robot has officially obtained the EU CE Mark (MDR), a significant milestone for China's medical technology innovation.

The certification approves its use in urology, gynecology, general surgery, and thoracic surgery for both adult and pediatric patients, making SHURUI® the first China-developed surgical robot to receive a full-specialty, all-ages CE certification. Notably, it is the only single-port robot approved in Europe for pediatric applications.

The system’s groundbreaking  snake-like instruments enable complex multi-degree-of-freedom operations through a single miniature incision, offering a significantly less invasive alternative to traditional multi-port robots. Developed entirely in China, this technology promises reduced patient trauma and accelerated recovery.

SHURUI® has established a robust clinical foundation, with over 2,000 procedures performed across more than 70 Chinese and nearly 10 European hospitals. Its European expansion is strengthened by collaborations with leading surgeons and the establishment of a clinical training center in partnership with IRCAD.

This achievement opens a new chapter, establishing a new global benchmark in minimally invasive surgery set by Chinese robotic technology.

Important Notes

The SHURUI Single-port Endoscopic Surgical System (SR-ENS-600), developed and produced by Beijing Surgerii Robotics Company Limited, has obtained the CE marking for urologic laparoscopic surgical procedures, gynecologic laparoscopic surgical procedures, general laparoscopic surgical procedures, and thoracoscopic surgical procedures. It is intended for use by trained surgeons in an operating room environment in accordance with the representative, specific procedures set forth in the User Manual.
